1. Personal relationships with God
First of all, people were created to have personal relationships with God. And this is main purpose for each believer.
Jn. 17:3, Acts 17:26-28
2. Uniqueness and integrity of the person
People are God’s creation, made in the image of God, therefore each person is unique. All people are valuable – men, women, elderly people, children, even those children that are yet in the wombs of their mothers. This is because Christ has died for every one of them. Because of Christ we became new creation (wholesome person in Christ Jesus).
Gen. 1:26-28, 1 Cor. 6:19-20, Ps. 8:4-6, 1 Thess. 5:23
3. Relationships with each other
Church is the community, founded on relationships between its members. When relationships between us get stronger and closer, ties that unite us get stronger, and we have more openness and trust.
1 Cor. 1:10, 1 Thess. 5:11, 1 Jn. 1:3-7, Phil. 2:1-4, Rom. 1:11-12, Eph. 4:16
4. Worship and prayer
God is the center of each Christian’s life. Worship expresses our respect to God, acknowledgement of His dominion, and releases the glory of God in the earth. Prayer helps to discover God’s will and to fulfill it. This is true for the person, for the Church and for the nation. We believe in importance and necessity of both individual and corporate prayer.
Prayer: Jer. 29:12-13, Jer. 33:3, Matt. 7:7-8, Matt. 18:19, James 5:16, 1 Jn. 5:14-15, Eph. 6:18, 1 Tim. 2:1
Worship: Ps. 50:23, Jn. 4:23-24, 1 Cor. 6:20, Eph. 5:18-20
5. Training and releasing workers
God endowed Christians with ministry gifts. He has appointed leaders of the Church, mature Christians, to help others to prepare for the ministry and to release their potential. We believe that every person is called to ministry.
Mtt. 28:16-20, Rom. 8:28-30, 1 Pet. 2:9-10, Eph. 4:11-13, Jn. 17:2-23
6. Family and continuity of generations
We are called to establish Biblical principles in building of the families. Our responsibility is that our children and young people would come to the knowledge of God and lead church together with us to fulfill its destiny.
Gen. 1:27-28, Gen. 2:23-24, Eccl. 4:9-12, Ps. 127:3-5, Ps. 77:3-7, Deut. 4:9, Deut. 11:18, Mal. 4:6
7. Impact on society
Jesus called His disciples to be “the salt of the earth”, because we are called to preserve this world from degradation. He called them be “the light to the world”, because we are called to bring the light of truth to the world. Church is called to bring the Kingdom of God, its principles, laws and order to the earth.
Is. 58:9-14, Prov. 11:14
8. Atmosphere of freedom and acceptance
Jesus brought freedom from all slavery into the life of people and gave them example of acceptance. Church is the place where each person can receive freedom and acceptance, where they can open up as persons, where they have opportunity to be transformed into the image of Christ.
Gal. 5:13, 2 Cor. 3:17, 1 Cor. 8:9, Rom. 15:7
9. Unity of the Body of Christ
Before His crucifixion Jesus prayed to the Father about the unity among His disciples. When the world will see unity of Christians, it would be for them a testimony of the work of Christ. Tremendous power is hidden in the unity.
Jn. 17:11, Jn. 20-23, Eph. 4:3, Eph. 4:13, Phil. 1:27-28, Acts 4:32
10. Mercy and compassion
Good Samaritan parable is the commandment of God: love your neighbor as yourself. Love is expressed and manifested in specific works of mercy and compassion, in caring for the people in need.
Mtt. 7:12, Acts 2:44-45, Rom. 15:1, Jam. 3:17, Col. 3:12, Eph. 4:32
We believe that Great Commission of Jesus Christ is relevant for each contemporary Christian. God’s wish is that all people would be saved and have relationships with Him. And He can accomplish it through His Body, through the Church.
Mtt. 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, 1 Tim. 2:3-4, Rom. 10:15, Acts 10:42, Rom. 1:16
Values that we will be governed by in 2018-2019:
1. Prayer that is focused on the Church and on Belarus
In order to change something in us or around us, we have to move in balance in three main things: prayer, word and action. And, of course, everything starts with prayer. Together with God we make history, greatest part of this process happens through prayer. In this special and crucial time its is necessary to concentrate our attention on prayer for our local church and for our country. At the same time it is important to understand that if we don’t act pro-actively in prayer, we will have to have much more efforts to react to situations and circumstances.
Luke 22:44a, Acts 1:14, Acts 2:1, Acts 12:5, James 5:17-18
2. Testifying about Christ (individual and in teams)
In the early Church believers sincerely and joyfully served God and praised Him. Testifying was natural and joyful part of their lives. As a result they were loved by all people. Testifying about Christ is an opportunity and privilege, not just an obligation to evangelize. Being led by the love to people, we will be able to sincerely minister to them, preach Good News about Christ both individually and by organizing various team projects.
Acts 1:8, Acts 2:46-47, Acts 4:33, Acts 5:42
3. Uniqueness and integrity of the person
Human is an unique creation of God, whom He created according to His image and likeness. God is perfect and He planned for the humans to be the same. Humans are special and unique because the Lord never makes copies — He creates each one matchless, with unique talents and gift, personality and appearance. God gave each of us spirit, soul and body. He defines when and where we will be born, He writes “all days fashioned for us” even before we come to this world.Yet the choice is ours! We can accept Him and everything He prepared for us (love, salvation in Christ, gifts, destiny and predestination), or we can refuse, going into rebellion and sin.
Gen. 1:26-28, 1 Cor. 6:19-20, Deut. 28, Ps. 139, 1 Thess. 5:23, Ps. 8:4-6
4. Training and releasing workers
We believe that every person is called to ministry. God endowed Christians with gifts and talents. Task for the leadership, for mature Christians, is to help Church members to discover their calling, to prepare for the ministry and to release the inner potential.
Matt. 28:16-20, Rom. 8:28-30, 1 Pet. 2:9-10, Eph. 4:11-13, John 17:2-23
